Hi, I'm Jessica Daniels Harrison

WHO I AM

I am a candidate for Mayor of Zebulon, NC. My passion for public service is rooted in my upbringing in this community. I am committed to making a positive impact and creating a brighter future for our families and businesses. As a longtime resident of Zebulon, I understand the unique challenges we face and the opportunities we have for growth. I am dedicated to providing knowledge of the community and advocating for policies that support our residents and businesses.

MY EXPERIENCE

I have spent my career working in public service, from serving as a community organizer to working in local government. My experience has given me a deep understanding of the issues facing our community and the skills necessary to drive impactful change. As commissioner, I will prioritize supporting small businesses, improving access to quality education and healthcare, and ensuring that our community is safe and welcoming for all.

R.E.A.L. for a Stronger Zebulon

R – Regional Partnerships

  • Building Bridges: Commit to deepening ties with Wake County, Eastern Wake municipalities, Raleigh Chamber, and educational partners like Wake Tech and EDPNC to attract investments and share services.
     

  • Amplifying Impact: Collaborate with the Raleigh-Durham Research Triangle region to bring new opportunities—such as incubators, infrastructure grants, and transit planning—to Zebulon.

E – Economic Development

  • Smart Growth Strategy: Advance Zebulon’s Economic Development Strategic Plan, ensuring downtown vitality while attracting new businesses—leveraging our Main Street designation and façade grants.
     

  • Support Local Businesses: Promote entrepreneurship by supporting local artisans—like MacLellan Bagpipes and Olde Raleigh Distillery—and enhancing small business services via the Chamber and SBTDC.

      A – Academic & Youth Services

  • Strengthen Youth resources & Workforce Development: Partner with Wake Tech, K–12 schools, and Raleigh Chamber’s education programs to ensure youth are college- and career-ready .
     

  • Expand Youth Opportunities: Support internships, after-school programs, and sports—especially leveraging our proximity to Five County Stadium and local parks.

L – Local Infrastructure

  • Connect & Sustain: Prioritize upgrading local roads that are crucial for daily commutes and economic flow.
     

  • Enhance Public Assets: Invest in parks, trails, and community centers to serve our growing population.
     

  • Smart Planning for Growth: Ensure new developments align with sustainable services—such as water, sewers, and connectivity—guided by our FY 25 budget plans and MSD feasibility studies
